Our Values

The Fayette-Spalding Cooperative values:

Expected Behavior

Our Members are Expected To:

  • Talk about issues politely and respectfully.
  • Think the best of each other and never assume someone else has bad intentions.
  • Represent the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative with honor and honesty.
  • Treat others as we want to be treated.
  • Work for the good of the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative, its members, and our partners.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and tell the cooperative about them if they happen.
  • Be honest when we speak and listen openly to others.
  • Stay open-minded and willing to change our views.
  • Follow our rules and use our processes when dealing with the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative.
  • Get help from the Membership Wellness Committee if we have problems.
  • Support what Fayette-Spalding Cooperative stands for.


Unacceptable Conduct

Members of the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative Must Never Engage Behavior That:

  • Hurt or threaten to hurt anyone.
  • Treat others unfairly because of their race, gender, or other differences.
  • Bully or bother someone.
  • Say mean things about someone's race, culture, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or who they are.
  • Touch someone inappropriately or make them uncomfortable.
  • Scare or make someone feel small.
  • Disrupt Fayette-Spalding Cooperative events or meetings.
  • Share private information about others without permission.
  • Be unfriendly with someone just because we disagree with them.


Resolving Conflict

Our Members Resolve Conflict by:

  • Talk honestly with each other and with the goal to fix things.
  • Ask the Membership Wellness Committee for help if we can't solve a problem between two or more members.
  • Agree on how we'll act at events and meetings if needed through a "Socially Enforceable Contract".


Member Grievances

Members in Violation of this Code of Conduct Can Be:

  • Reported to the Membership Wellness Committee.
  • Get kicked out of the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative if the Coordinating Committee or Membership Wellness Committee decides.
  • Investigated by the Membership Wellness Committee where they will look into the compliant and make a suggestion on what to do next.
  • Disallowed to run for office of the Fayette-Spalding Cooperative or serve as a leader.
